Price: The price includes room and breakfast.
Arrival: Rooms will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival, unless by prior arrangement. Guests may arrive up to 10pm. Please let us know if you will be arriving late.
Access to rooms: Guests have their own keys and can access their room and communal areas throughout the duration of their stay. Guests are required to lock the front door when entering and leaving on each occasion. We clean and service all rooms between 10am and 12:30pm.
We may need access to rooms at any time to carry out essential maintenance. Only registered guests are permitted to use the rooms.
Departure: Guests are required to vacate their rooms by 10:30am on the day of departure. Luggage may be left with us after checkout, to be collected at an agreed time.
Breakfast: Breakfast is served between 8:30am and 9am. Please inform us if you have any allergies or special dietary requirements to help us cater for your needs.
Pets: No pets, except registered assistance dogs.
Acceptance of children: Families with well behaved children are welcome. We are a small bed & breakfast; if your children do not sleep through the night or are likely to disturb other guests, self catering may be a better option (www.staycolwellbay.co.uk).
Smoking policy: The Bay is a smoke free property. Any guests smoking on the premises may be asked to leave without refund and/or pay an additional cleaning charge. Guests are welcome to smoke in the front garden, provided they use the ash tray to extinguish cigarettes.
Booking procedure: Please complete our online booking form or call 01983 641143. We require your contact details and full payment prior to accepting your booking. Once we have confirmed your booking you have entered into a legal contract. A receipt can be provided on request.
Payment methods: Full payment must be made at the time of booking via bank transfer, mobile phone or cheque. Taking credit/debit cards is cost prohibitive at this time.
Cancellation policy: As a small business with only three rooms, cancellations have a big impact on our operating costs. Unlike a large chain hotel with many rooms a cancelled room for us represents a third of our income. If you are unable to take your holiday and your booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full. If we are able to re-let your booking, we will refund your money less a £10 administration fee. No-shows will be charged the full cost of the stay. We strongly recommend guests take out holiday insurance that covers cancellation costs.
Non-availability of accommodation: If, for reasons beyond our control, we cannot offer you accommodation on the day of arrival, we will inform you as soon as possible and endeavour to find alternative accommodation to at least a similar standard nearby. If we are unable to do so, or this is unacceptable to you we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this.
Unacceptable behaviour: The Bay is a relaxing Bed & Breakfast in a quiet residential area. Guests are requested to be quiet when entering the house at night and to keep television/music volumes to an acceptable level.
Aggressive, abusive or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone engaging in this behaviour will be asked to leave immediately.
Anyone under the influence, or who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be refused entry or asked to leave. As will any guest that misuses our property or gives us cause for concern for our safety, or that of our guests.
Ejected guests will be liable for the full cost of the room for the booked period.
Laundry service: We are unable to offer a laundry service. We will however, dry wet clothing for walkers and cyclists and other guests caught in the rain.
Damage and breakages: Guests are requested to inform us of any damage or breakages at the earliest opportunity, in order to safeguard the comfort and safety of all our guests. Damage and breakages must be paid for.
Personal possessions: We take no responsibility for guests' personal possessions. Bicycle racks are provided for guest use but bikes are left at owners risk. Items left behind can be posted back to owners with guests covering postage costs.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or any employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
